Deception failed - ratification in Germany

Deception failed

Berlin, 19.12.2009: The large-scale deception and stupefying maneuver of the state powers for further cover-up and obfuscation of the splitting up of Human Rights failed thoroughly. In fact, even a contrary effect has now been achieved.
Psychiatric survivors were increasingly successful at making aware to a broader public that the slandering of people with a psychiatric diagnosis serves above all to arbitrarily rob them of their basic and Human Rights and to thereby degrade them to sub-humans. This publicity was achieved e.g. by the Foucault Tribunal in 1998 and the Russell Tribunal in 2001, to mention only two events.

As a defense and rescue measure against the exposure of the mendacious claim, which has been held since 1948, that human rights are indivisible and that there is no class of psychiatrized persons arbitrarily and radically deprived of their rights, the states in the UN committed a fraud: over 4 years a UN-Disability Convention was born, whose wording was intended to fool the public into believing that this splitting of human rights would be terminated. In fact it was only planned to consolidate this lie, to keep critical activists occupied with bureaucracy and to raise false hopes.

This plan would have been successful if in all countries the activists had swallowed the bait that with regard to the disabled, now Human "Rights" were recognized, instead of understanding that this is all about a political question and that with the ratification it would be decided whether this is only a symbolic policy for window dressing and a diversionary tactic of the state or whether it should actually mean what is promised in the UN-Disability Convention.

Because, particularly in Germany, “healing” by killing by the doctor-Nazis was already committed with state support without them having a bad conscience, we were distrustful and therefore even before the ratification, in a legal opinion by renowned human rights lawyers, we informed all members in the 16 German regional and federal parliaments exactly what the UN-Disability Convention was promising. The immediate reaction of these representatives of the people: almost without exception the consequences were negated. After the conclusion of our legal opinion was even confirmed by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights that the psychiatric special laws were actually intrinsically discriminatory and declared to be an unlawful law, which we again communicated to all members of the regional and federal parliaments in writing, they nevertheless held on to their vile decision on the convention fraud: on 4.12. 2008 at 22:59 h the Bundestag [federal parliament] , with the exclusion of the public (the visitor service had closed its gates at 20 h) again decided on the fraud and declared an injustice to be just, in that the UN-Disability Convention in a core domain, namely the equality before justice and the law in order to finally ban unlawful deprivation of libery and torture-like bodily harm by coercive treatment, should not be applied. That this resolution was passed by the Bundestag so secretly late at night without discussion and with the exclusion of the public, is further proof of the fraudulent intention in which it was conceived.
Today the fraud was unanimously confirmed by an all-party coalition in the Upper House of the German Parliament [the chamber of the regional states].

Now the proof has been furnished in one case, the Federal Republic of Germany, that with the ratification promptly the consequences of the UN-Disability Convention were negated when actually it had voted upon them. Now it is obvious also to all activists in other countries that for the states the UN-Disability Convention serves only the purpose of deception. At the same time it revealed an “Institute for Government Favours” in Germany, which delivers hypocritical deceptive lip-service to human rights, in order to actually make itself the paid accomplice of the cover-up, see an open letter in German.

However, the state powers had to pay a price for its deception: They now have all those who take human rights seriously, against them, because the authority which by agreement was created by all nations and cultures of the world for the observance and protection of the Human Rights, the UN High Commissioner for human rights, declared the special psychiatric laws to be intrinsically discriminatory and unlawful law. Therefore, neither by negating, nor by any "expert" opinion can we be deceived in our knowledge

* that the psychiatric prisons are a crime.
* that the coercive psychiatric treatment in these prisons is a crime.
* that all those who work in these closed psychiatric wards are criminals, in particular the doctors.
* that no national law can protect these criminals from the verdict of committing a crime against humanity.

Those who are still involved in such crimes after 1/1/2009, the day that the UN-Disability Convention enters into force in the Germany, do so being fully conscious of their guilt. The participants of this year’s conference of the Psychiatrist Association in Germany were informed at the entrance by us about this on 26. and 27. 11: see pictures of the demonstration

As an adult and child neurologist (retired) the neurological complications of psychiatric drugs, especially the typical and atypical antipsychotics (Zyprexa, Risperdal, Seroquel, Abilify, Geodon), comprised a significant part of my practice. Referring psychiatrists rarely diagnosed or much understood the neurological side effects of the drugs they were prescribing.

I encountered transient and permanent dyskinesias (when permanent and irreversible we call them “tardive” dyskinesias). There was acute and chronic torticollis. There were acute oculogyric crises (forced version of the eyes, more often upward than to one side or the other). I encountered eye-blinking and forced eye closure, wrongly called “Tourette’s syndrome” –not idiopathic at all, but iatrogenic. There were acute and chronic, always-embarrassing, oral-lingual-facial dyskinesias. There were Parkinson’s syndromes needing differentiation from idiopathic Parkinson’s disease. There were rare cases of bulbar paralysis or bulbar dyskinesia leading to aspiration, pneumonia, and death–especially in the elderly, especially in nursing homes, in bed. There were strokes related to the start of dosing. Most frequent of all were the tardive dyskinesias, those appearing after months or years on antipsychotics, never abating, grotesque, embarrassing and sometimes so persistent and severe, especially in the elderly that they grew exhausted and died.

I almost forgot neuroleptic malignant syndrome–NMS, usually lethal as its name suggests, not to be confused with the clinically similar “serotonin syndrome,” due to an entirely different group of psychiatric drugs, the SSRIs. My list of the neurological side effects is short and incomplete, but it is a list all neurologists are well aware of, and all physicians prescribing such medications should be aware of, but are not.

Why haven’t neurologists (American Academy of Neurology, American Neurological Association, Child Neurology Society) , knowing fully the neurological horrors of antipsychotic drugs spoken up as these same grotesque, disabling and sometimes-lethal side effects are visited, today, upon the children of the nation, entirely for psychiatric indications–not actual diseases at all [Concern About Psychotropic Drugs and Foster Kids http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/display/article/10168/1167042#]. It is one thing for adults to opt to take such medication, it is quite another, as across the US today, for psychiatrists and physicians of all kinds to place entirely normal children on antipsychotic drugs. This should not be allowed.

I have not expounded upon the many somatic side effects of these drugs such as the morbid obesity, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hypertension, diabetes, gynecomastia (often needing surgical reduction), and prolactin-secreting tumors of the pituitary. I have not mentioned them previously because it is my conviction that the neurological side effects alone constitute reason enough not to the use antipsychotic drugs in children.

Whether the child has one or several “chemical imbalances” of the brain and is entirely normal, or has a diffuse encephalopathy manifested by mental and/or motor retardation, prescription antipsychotics, with all of their side effects are nothing but symptomatic “treatment”—symptomatic treatment that comes at far to high a price for any physician to justify. Putting neurologically-, medically-normal children on antipsychotic drugs is criminal and is an act that needs criminalizing.

Antipsychotic Drugs - The Chemical Straight Jacket - In the News

Dallas Morning News
Knee-deep in quick fixes

Dec 21, 2008

Re: "Suit: Drug firm defrauded state -- Company denies false claims to get Risperdal on state's preferred list," Wednesday news story.

As a mental health clinician I have been appalled by the indiscriminate use of Risperdal, a powerful anti-psychotic medication, in the treatment of non-psychotic symptoms in children and adults.

Your article about the conspiracy of fraud perpetrated by Janssen Pharmaceuticals and certain state officials upon the state of Texas and its citizens is no surprise. Greed has no conscience.

The willingness of drug companies to jeopardize the mental and physical health of children in order to increase their bottom line is just another example of the depths to which businesses have sunk in the endless pursuit of the almighty dollar. However, we have become co-conspirators in this fraud in the sense that we are endlessly in search of the quick fix -- a pill for every problem.

Poughkeepsie Journal
Calmer child comes with a price: side effects
By Mary Beth Pfeiffer
December 21, 2008

When 11-year-old William, a City of Poughkeepsie youth, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he was a skinny, 65-pound 7-year-old who had been physically aggressive to his mother and was, in her words, "tearing the house apart." He calmed down after being placed on Abilify, an antipsychotic medication dispensed 1,816 times last year to Medicaid children in Ulster and Dutchess counties.

There was a price to pay however. Within six weeks, William put on an astonishing 40 pounds - 60 percent of his body mass - and four years later, he still struggles with his weight.

He is not alone. Jennifer, a City of Poughkeepsie 17-year-old who credits her medication with saving her, gained 100 pounds on a 150-pound frame when she was 14 and first put on Zoloft and Abilify. "It felt like I was starving," she said of the round-the-clock drive to eat, which led to a diabetes medication to control her blood sugar level. (Pseudonyms have been used because of the stigma associated with mental illness.)

Weight gain is just one of the many and serious side effects of psychiatric medications prescribed for children.

Kids exhibit muscle tremors and tics, potentially irreversible. They become light-headed. One local parent said her son developed a life-threatening rash while on an antiseizure medication called Lamactil, dispensed 410 times locally last year. Another parent said her son's school average dropped from 80 to 17 because he kept falling asleep in class from his high dose of Seroquel, among the most popular antipsychotics locally with 1,617 unique prescriptions written last year.

According to a recent study in the journal Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, children on atypical antipsychotics had twice the odds of becoming obese, three times of developing diabetes and nearly three times of exhibiting cardiovascular conditions. The study further found children on multiple antipsychotics had five times the odds of developing problems with their blood lipid counts, which are sometimes associated with elevated cholesterol.

These are risks parents reluctantly accept along with drugs that for the most part have not been studied in children because of the high cost and ethical implications of conducting research on children.

"We kind of are the research, unofficially," said the northern Dutchess mother of a boy with bipolar disorder. "While we're waiting (for the research) the kids are tearing down the house and committing suicide and things like that."

The potential side effects of Zyprexa and Risperdal, which were dispensed 1,832 times to Medicaid children in Ulster and Dutchess last year, became an issue at an FDA hearing last month at which a panel of expert consultants criticized the drugs' overuse in children.

Zyprexa was associated with 42 serious side effects in U.S. children 16 and under in a recent 13-month period, including three deaths, according to an FDA review given to the committee. These are among 44 pediatric deaths worldwide since the drug's approval in the 1996. Zyprexa is one of four common atypical antipsychotics used "off label" for children, meaning it has not been FDA approved for use in children.

Risperdal, meantime, was associated with 42 serious side effects and eight deaths in U.S. children in the 13-month period, among 31 pediatric deaths since the drug's introduction in 1993. In both cases, the agency said the review of deaths "did not reveal any new safety concerns" about the drugs; panel members said they wanted to know more about potential side effects of the drugs in children.

"Research around psychotropic medication usage in children and adolescents lags far behind what it should," said Dr. Stewart Gabel, medical director for children and family services for the state Office of Mental Health, who is concerned about the long-term effects of such drugs. "We use the medications without the backup knowledge had we done the larger scale true experiments."

Psychiatry's political madness

If this story doesn't completely debunk psychiatry, what will?

I've noticed for years that psychiatry in effect suppresses dissent. Indeed, many governments - including the United States and the old Soviet Union - have placed citizens in psychiatric "hospitals" because of their political views.

The psychiatric racket's definition of a major mental illness is disagreeing with a shrink.

But there hasn't really been much examination of what specific views or philosophies are suppressed. I think the latest development, however, lays that bare.

Dr. Lyle Rossiter Jr. has released a book attacking liberalism as a mental disorder. Right-wing websites praise Rossiter as an acclaimed Chicago psychiatrist, but he's actually just some nobody. They call him an independent voice with no links to conservative activists, but that's a lie, as Rossiter writes a column on a right-wing extremist site.

Apparently this book came out 2 years ago, but it's been such a flop that people are just now discovering it.

The aim of the book is clear. It tries to label those who dissent from the conservative order as mentally ill. Various unpleasantries befall a person when they are labeled: Their views may no longer be taken seriously, they may be institutionalized, they may lose their right to vote or drive.

The liberalism-as-disorder meme is now raging through the wingnutosphere, and the timing is important. Psychiatry has long practiced suppression of dissent, but Rossiter's book is designed to promote support for this suppression to average readers. The book seemed to be released at just the right time, for it was right when the wheels were falling off the Bush wagon, and Bush's cultists could trot out this book as ammo against dissidents.

Actually, all the book seems to be accomplishing is proving what a pseudoscientific crock psychiatry is.

If liberalism is a mental disorder, conservatism is a social disease.
